My laptop pointer does not let me move it very much, any suggestions?

Perhaps it's your battery that's on the fritz? I'm not sure what virus would be able to compromise both power and pointer capabilities...I would maybe invest in a new battery. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure. Sorry. :(
