Why did Armageddon get such bad reviews?

Ok so I first saw this movie when i was probably 10. Im 14 now and everytime I watch the movie I still enjoy it. I have just recently realized that this movie is not rated well. I was blown away when I saw that. People are criticizing it for the 168 impossibilities throughout the film. Well did they ever realize ITS A MOVIE!!!! Since when has their even been a sci-fi flick that was even 85% real. Never. I can see a scientist getting upset over it but to the average person it is just as realistic as any other action film. Also, I have heard criticisms over the actors and the plot. With actors like Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Billy Bob Thornton you cant possibly say the acting is bad. As for the plot, In my opinion it has a very well thought out and original plot. Especially the ending with Bruce Willis sacrificing himself to save the world. The average movie would have had them successfully destroy the asteroid and everyone live happily ever after. Yes, the explosions are a little excessive, but overall its a very entertaining and fantastic movie. I just dont understand how so many people disagree.
