Brilliant beautiful cooks, what is the proper spelling of the phonetic "mel-ah-hua" an unlevened bread?

A beautiful friend and I made this bread years and years ago..."some flower, make a well and add some oil, some water, mix, knead, so it looks and feels like this, rest, roll, fry..." Would love to know the name of this flat bread. She was raised in Marakesh (apologies for bad spelling) and Iraq, called it "mel ah hua" any one know the real name?
