How is the life style in Atlanta, Georgia?

I live in New York so I'm use to the city life. Next year in the summer I'll be heading to college and I want to go down south but still have that city atmosphere with me. Georgia State University is one of my choices though I'm kind of indecisive because I want to make sure I know what I'm getting myself in to. So if you live in Georgia or ATL or have been to Georgia State University it would be of great help :)
