Creative/Interesting way to ask a girl to formal?

Hey, I've been trying to think of a cool/creative way to ask this girl I like to our 8th grade farewell dance/formal. The only thing is, I don't want it to be a 'public' thing. If you have any feasible/non-sarcastic ideas, let me know.
